Subject: Staff Support for the WHPA
As you may have been aware, planned revisions to the administrative structure of the Western HVAC Performance Alliance have been completed and services were restored in late May. We apologize for any disruption of your important work that may have occurred during the unexpected gap.
Better Buildings Incorporated (BBI) returns in its lead role and is joined by many of the sub consultants who have served as WHPA staff in years past. Each member of the team looks forward to supporting the WHPA’s many contributions towards implementation of the California Energy Efficiency Strategic Plan, the HVAC Action Plan, and IOU-administered HVAC programs.
All critical functions will continue, but you may find staff support and other duties to be somewhat different than in 2011. Staff work is now aligned with a more defined scope that expands in some areas (e.g., increased responsibilities on the HVAC Action Plan) and is balanced by a narrowing of other roles (e.g. meeting planning). Staff support will continue throughout the remainder of 2012.
The WHPA Executive Committee also wanted to let you know that as the IOUs define and request approval from the CPUC for their 2013–2014 programs, they are incorporating staff support for the Performance Alliance in their plans. We expect that support will continue throughout 2013–2014 and without any further interruption.
Barring unforeseen changes, the IOUs plan to issue an RFP for WHPA management in the next couple of months and to have a contract in place with the consultant of choice well before year end.
The work you do is very important to the IOUs and to the industry, so please let us know if you have any questions or feedback on the support that is being provided and about our plans for the future.
