Minimize
A report was released July 23, 2012 containing the findings of an independent consulting group, Energy Market Innovations, on the progress of the WHPA. The assessment was done at the request of Southern California Edison and covers the period from the inception of the WHPA in 2009 through the end of 2011.

The research for the report was conducted through interviews and other research.  It encompassed five main themes: (1) missions and goals, (2) member satisfaction, (3) organizational structure and internal processes, (4) funding, and (5) member recruitment.

The executive summary states, in part, “Over the three years covered by this study, the WHPA has grown to represent over 100 diverse organizations… and has several notable accomplishments. Overall, since its inception in 2009, the WHPA has effectively promoted the improvement of energy efficiency in the California HVAC industry. Nevertheless, the WHPA is a relatively young organization, and like any other maturing organization, has areas that may warrant increased focus and potential refinement.”
